Week 3 and 4 of school

The next day we took the "blown up" ivory soap outside for some messy fun. Here he is spraying colored water on the soap.

the 3rd week was "C" week so we made ALL kinds of c's. Here is one made out of sand!


another experiment we tried was to view an arrow through water and see if we could get the arrow to point the other way.



Yah! we got it to work!

This was a fun craft. We drew a picture using black glue and then let that dry.


While the pictures were drying we had to make some kind of food that started with a C! Here little m is making some Crescent rolls! yum

The fourth week was our review week for ABC so we did a lot of fun activities to remember those letters. Here we cut out letters in some jello!


After our pictures dried we then used water color to paint our pictures



Of course kbug had to make some "C" cookies!

another fun way we practiced writing letters was to fill a ziplock with hair gel and write the letter on that! Fun!

another craft was to use a screen to flick paint onto some objects below. when we were done you could remove the objects and see their pattern below. It didn't work very well, but he had fun doing it!































We made A B C out of clay and then baked it in the oven.

then we decorated A B C on some cardstock and cut them out. He used glitter and colored rice. He loved the glitter the best!










Whew what a busy couple of weeks.

What we are reading...

since we are studying WWI the girls and I are reading this book about a pair of brothers fighting in France during the war.

County Fair

We were quite shocked to see this poster made for a 4H entry. Wow!

The girls wanted their picture taken with "Obama" when we passed the Democrat booth. The lady working the booth said that someone had stolen the cardboard cut out of Obama and defaced him, but they did find him. She also said two police officers walked by and was joking how they would like to tazer him. These kind of people are disgusting. Anyway the lady was excited the kids wanted their picture made with him and were knowledgeable about politics.


We didn't have time this year to put anything in the fair, but did enjoy going around and looking at the exhibits and the animals.
